Ralf Rangnick is doubting whether Cristiano Ronaldo is capable of spearheading Manchester United ’s attack next season when his successor arrives in the Old Trafford dugout.

The German has kept his faith in the Portuguese forward throughout this season when many have questioned whether Ronaldo still has the quality. However, Rangnick is starting to give up on the 37-year-old and has ‘major reservations’ about whether he is capable enough to play a crucial role in the team next season, according to The Manchester Evening News.Ronaldo has been one of the first names on the team sheet for United of late, but namely, due to how Edinson Cavani has been ruled out with injury, Mason Greenwood is unavailable and Marcus Rashford is also struggling in front of goal.Although Rangnick’s doubts about Ronaldo appear to be behind closed doors, the former RB Leipzig boss has been vocal in how he expects more from the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.

Earlier this month he said: “It's not only about Cristiano Ronaldo. He should score more goals, it's obvious. "I think we are creating enough chances and enough opportunities in the last couple of games but we just didn't score enough goals, but this is not only an issue with Cristiano, it's an issue with the other players, especially the offensive players.

We don't score enough goals."Reports have circulated about a divide in the dressing room at the Theatre of Dreams, and with Ronaldo also causing an unsavoury atmosphere at the club due to his high expectations.HAVE YOUR SAY!
