An MSP who negotiated the deal to take the Scottish Greens into Government believes they can replace Labour as Holyrood’s third force.Ross Greer, widely tipped as a future co-leader of the Greens, also said he is “really excited” about the prospect of his party running councils next year.Greer, a West of Scotland MSP, is an increasingly influential figure in a party that entered national Government for the first time this year.
Although only 27, he represented the Greens in the pro-independence Yes Scotland campaign as a teenager and was first elected to Holyrood in his early 20s.
An ally of co-leader Patrick Harvie, he famously went toe-to-toe with TV loudmouth Piers Morgan over the legacy of Winston Churchill on Good Morning Britain.
