Taylor Alison Swift is an American singer-songwriter. She is known for narrative songs about her personal life, which have received widespread media coverage. At age 14, Swift became the youngest artist signed by the Sony/ATV Music publishing house and, at 15, she signed her first record deal.
Her 2006 eponymous debut album was the longest-charting album of the 2000s in the US. Its third single, "Our Song", made her the youngest person to single-handedly write and perform a number-one song on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Swift's second album, Fearless, was released in 2008.
Buoyed by the pop crossover success of the singles "Love Story" and "You Belong with Me", it became the US' best-selling album of 2009 and was certified diamond in the US. The album won four Grammy Awards, and Swift became the youngest Album of the Year winner.
Met Office issues snow yellow weather alert across Scotland as 4 inches to fall today
dailyrecord.co.ukA yellow weather warning for snow has been issued for many areas of Scotland.The Met Office warning comes into force at 4pm this afternoon and is to remain in place until 11am tomorrow morning.Forecasters expect wintry showers to fall to low levels this evening with heavier showers in areas above 200m.The caution stretches from northern Scotland to the central belt with Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow amongst the areas likely to see flurries of the white stuff.The weather is set to create some difficult travel conditions with disruption likely across the areas impacted.Up to 10cm - or four inches - of snow is expected on higher grounds with slushy falls and icy surfaces expected throughout on lower levels, according to the Met Office.Central, Tayside & FifeGrampianHighlands & Eilean SiarSW Scotland, Lothian BordersStrathclydeSome roads and railways likely to be affected, leading to longer journey times by car as well as by bus and train servicesThere is likely to be some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle pathsThe wintery showers are expected to become more confined to higher grounds as we head through Thursday, reports the Met Office.
