A host of forgotten, unidentified and potentially valuable historical artefacts from the Ayrshire's history are to be the focus of a new council project.South Ayrshire Council's museums service has been tasked with putting together a more comprehensive register of assets.While the museum is responsible for the register of artefacts, it has not had direct involvement in council-owned items that are kept outwith the collection.This has meant the local authority has not had a comprehensive register of all of the historical artefacts in its possession or loaned out.Laura Kerr told the council's audit and governance panel: "Currently the service is responsible for the collection and accession items (those identified by specific information such
