Danger Mouse and his trusty sidekick Penfold first sprang onto our screens in glorious 2D back in 1981. In the decade that followed, the eyepatch-clad super spy and his bespectacled friend went up against their nemesis, Baron Silas Greenback, hundreds of times as he unveiled a variety of dastardly plans.
But with his plots involving exploding custard and enormous chickens - the evil toad never quite got the better of Danger Mouse and Penfold.
The brainchild of animators at Chorlton-based Cosgrove Hall, Danger Mouse ran for more than a decade - at one point drawing in more viewers than Coronation Street.
