A racing driver has been issued a hefty fine for pulling over and urinating by a post.Herberth Motorsport's Alfred Renauer was handed a bill of £16,000 for his actions at Yas Marina in the UAE during the 2022 Asian Le Mans Series.A picture of the letter he received was shared online., revealing that the 36-year-old fell foul of the FIA’s International Sporting Code. The letter read: "The Stewarts, having received a report from the EMSO Chief Marshal in regards to an incident during the period of the red flag while cars were parked at the grid, have interviewed the Marshal involved, summoned and heard the Competitor and the Driver, reviewed the matter, determined a breach of the regulations has been committed by the competitor named below and have decided to impose the following penalty."The letter then names Renauer before detailing the "facts."Under the subsection, it reads: "During the red flag period when all the cars were lined up at the red flag line on the grind, the driver was witnessed by a track marshal urinating behind a post.

As it was a female marshal who noticed, she immediately called the attention of a male marshal to discourage the action."What's the strangest fine in sport you know of?
