Chelsea striker and Ukrainian legend Andriy Shevchenko said houses in Ukraine are literally “shaking” from the impact of Russian bombardment.
The 2004 Ballon d’Or winner has been campaigning against Russia’s invasion of his homeland which has so far claimed the lives of 902 people in Ukraine, according to the United Nations Commissioner for Human Rights.
In November, Shevchenko was on the Serie A sidelines as manager of Italian outfit Genoa.Now, the former Ukraine manager, who is also his nation's highest ever goal scorer with 48 goals in 111 appearances, is a frequent attendee at various protests calling for peace in the Eastern European country.
In a bid to raise further awareness, the 45-year-old offered a horrifying insight into the level of violence people in Ukraine are experiencing.“You feel every bomb that touches the ground because the house is shaking,” Shevchenko said in an emotional interview with the Daily Mail. “This is what the war is now.
