Guy Ritchie is being sued by a former collaborator who claims that his 2020 movie The Gentlemen lifts heavily from one of his screenplays.
The acclaimed director was named in the lawsuit, which was filed in the London High Court. Mickey De Hara, who worked with Guy on previous films, claims he was commissioned to write a screenplay that would act as a sequel to 2008′s RockNRolla.
However, Guy reportedly passed on the project when it was finished. Now, Mickey claims that The Gentlemen appears to be heavily inspired by his work. Despite that, The Gentlemen reportedly features similar characters and storylines. In the lawsuit, Mickey alleges that he reached out to Guy after the film was released.
