Gordon Taylor could leave £2.2million-a-year PFA role in July with report due

The independent review into the running of the Professional Footballers' Association could be completed within seven weeks. Long standing PFA chief executive Gordon Taylor announced the review in November 2018 following intense criticism of the players' union.

Taylor revealed he would stand down from his role once the review, being conducted by the 'Sports Resolutions' organisation, had been completed.

But the investigation was postponed for more than seven months due to legal wranglings over which aspects of the organisation it should cover, before review chairman Thomas Linden QC was forced to stand down after becoming a High Court Judge.
