Gordon Taylor makes “very significant” contribution to players’ charity fund

Gordon Taylor has reportedly made a "very significant" donation to the players' charity fund of around £500,000. The news comes after Daily Star Sport revealed that PFA chief Taylor was coming under increasing pressure from Premier League stars to take a drop in wages and set the right example.

The 75-year-old is the highest paid union boss in the world, earning around £2.2m-a-year, but has insisted he will not take a pay cut.

Speaking to the Guardian, Taylor said: "The PFA will make donations and the PFA is involved in the players’ charity.
