Coronavirus: Premier League clubs 'consider making players redundant'

Premier League clubs are looking at ways they can rip up player contracts as they try and deal with the financial repercussions of an extended break.

England's footballing scene has come to a halt due to the coronavirus pandemic. The unprecedented stop to proceedings has seen clubs encounter problems they would not have forseen and they are looking for ways round it.

Club chiefs are looking at ways they can cut costs and analysing player contracts to see if redundancy is an option is being looked at, reports The Sun.

It is unlikely to be a mass cutting of players but it will no doubt cause plenty of issues with PFA supremo Gordon Taylor. The Covid-19 outbreak has seen club income plummet with no TV revenue being generated.
