Premier League players upset over PFA chief Gordon Taylor's failure to take wage cut

Premier League footballers are said to be insistent that PFA chief executive Gordon Taylor should take a voluntary wage cut before they agree to so themselves.

Taylor has been head of the PFA since 1981, and earns £2.2m a year, making him the highest paid union boss in the world. Recently he has been in discussions with the Premier League clubs and their players to try to convince them to take a 30 percent drop in wages amid the coronavirus crisis, but footballers are annoyed that Taylor himself has not yet accepted a salary cut himself.

According to the Star, a number of top-flight stars feel let down that Taylor has not set an example and taken a wage decuction.
