Cyclist rushed to hospital after being hit by car on busy Scots road

A cyclist has been rushed to hospital this morning after being hit by a car on busy Edinburgh road.The man was taken to Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh following the incident on Calder Road at the Longstone Roundabout at around 7am, February 9.It is unknown what injuries he sustained.The road is currently open, however drivers are being urged to avoid the area with queues already forming in all approaches.One woman tweeted about the incident.Lothian Buses said there was disruption to services 3, 25, 34, 35, 36, 300, X27 and the X28Diversions have been put in place.A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 7am on Wednesday, 9 February, 2022, police were called to a road crash involving a car and a cyclist on Calder Road at the Longstone Roundabout, Edinburgh. "The male cyclist has been taken by ambulance to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. "No details on injury, if any.
