Gogglebox new family members revealed in major Channel 4 show shake-up

Gogglebox viewers will be introduced to a new brand new family in upcoming scenes.Scottish couple Joe, 25, and Roisin, 23, are the latest editions to join the Channel 4 comedy series.Bosses were reportedly keen to welcome a family from Scotland onto the show.The pair will make their debut during Friday's episode (February 24) where they will offer their verdict on the latest shows on television.Fans of the show have taken to their keyboards to share their excitement at the news.Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: "Welcome to our screens Roisin and Joe.

Look forward to seeing you later."Another added: "These two!! Spent new year and many a good night out with them. Family pals."A third person posted: "Look who it is!

Good luck guys."While a fourth social media user said: "Wooo!! welcome to the Gogglebox family Roisin and Joe."It was reported in November last year that Gogglebox bosses were on the hunt for a Scottish family to appear on the show.The pledge was made after executives were grilled by MPs over the failure to have any Scottish families on the show for the past five years.At the time, Scottish Conservatives leader Douglas Ross said he and his wife Krystle were willing to go on the show every week.Gogglebox launched in 2013 and is currently on its nineteenth series.

The series has been honoured at the BAFTAs and the National Television Awards.However, the last Scots on screen were the Manuel family, who lived in Croydon at the time, in 2016.Channel 4 chief executive Alex Mahon told the Scottish Affairs Committee at Westminster at the time that it was a “goal” of the broadcaster to find a Scottish family for the reality show, which sees ordinary people become armchair TV critics.She has now told the committee.
