Amanda Louise Holden (born 16 February 1971) is an English media personality, actress, television presenter, singer, and author. She has judged on the television talent show competition Britain's Got Talent since the show began its run in 2007 on ITV. As an actress, Holden played the role of Mel in Kiss Me Kate (1998–2000), Geraldine Titley in The Grimleys (1999-2001), Sarah Trevanion in Wild at Heart (2006–2008), Lizzie, the Ring Mistress, in Big Top (2009), and the title role in Thoroughly Modern Millie, for which she was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award.

Go ahead 'in principle' given for new homes Harthill housing development

Plans for 20 new homes to be built in Harthill have been given the go ahead in principle.The proposals, from Aspire Holdings Ltd, to construct 20 new houses in Edinburgh Road including new vehicular access and the demolition of an existing home were given the green light by council planners.In its report planners state: “Whilst this application is for planning permission in principle, an indicative layout drawing has been provided which demonstrates that the site has the potential to provide up to 20 dwellinghouses whilst still complying with the council’s guidance on space around houses and parking.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
