Gangs of hungry seagulls have taken over a city centre after lockdown caused food sources to dry up leaving the birds increasingly agitated.
A shop owner has revealed how he has even seen the seagulls resort to 'cannibalism' and feast on carcasses of dead birds in Liverpool City Centre.
Othman Al-muntaser who owns Go Local told the Liverpool Echo the birds have taken over the city centre since lockdown, as sources of food have begun to disappear.
He said: "I felt sorry for them after they began eating bags of rubbish when I took the bins out. "I had some out-of-date bread so I threw some of it out for them in the street and I couldn't believe the effect it had. "They all came out of nowhere and began fighting over it.
