Futuristic Google Watch revealed after someone left secret prototype 'at a restaurant'

Google's long-rumoured rival to the Apple Watch could finally be on its way, after an apparent Google Pixel Watch prototype discovered in the lost and found box at a restaurant.Images obtained by Android Central are allegedly of the high-tech new wearable gadget, with a minimalist design, secret button, and special Google bands.The images were sent to Android Central by an anonymous source who claimed the Pixel Watch was left at a restaurant in the US.

The source said it could be a "testing model for the Internal Pixel team" at Google, and asked Android Central not to publish their name or location.In a Reddit post, the alleged leaker said his friend picked up the watch from the restaurant's lost-and-found.He said: "My buddy is the one that found the watch.

He is a bartender at the restaurant it was left at. They held it for a few weeks expecting the people who left it to return, but that never happened. "He gave it to me because I'm the tech nerd so he let me deal with it."The leaker, who claims to be a longtime Android and tech enthusiast, said the new device is about the same size as the Samsung Galaxy watch.If true, the pictures would confirm a separate report published in January which claimed Google will announce the Pixel Watch on May 26th after trademarking the Pixel Watch name.

It's unclear exactly what features the Pixel Watch will have yet, but if it's anything like the Apple Watch, it could offer some nifty safety features including calling emergency services if you take a hard fall.
