Comic favourite Peter Kay hit the London stage for the first time in years with his Dance for Life show, which raises money for Cancer Research, and fans were left “sobbing”.

After leaving fans concerned when he abruptly cancelled his 2018 tour due to “unforeseen family circumstances”, the national treasure has largely kept out of the spotlight.

The comedian, who is known for protecting his personal life, has kept the details of what happened private. Peter, 48, is now returning to the spotlight after five years away and hit the stage at north London’s Alexandra Palace on Friday night as part of his charity tour.
