A former Motherwell footballer was taken to hospital after he was allegedly stabbed during a disturbance in the street.Jon Connolly, who made two league appearances in goal for Well in 2001, was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment following an incident near his home in Bargeddie last Monday night.Police attended following a report of a disturbance following a road traffic collision just before 8pm on June 1 in Monkland View Crescent.A 44-year-old was arrested in connection with the incident.Since leaving Fir Park in 2002 to sign for Dumbarton the 39-year-old keeper has become something of a journeyman in the Scottish game.Currently the player-manager at Fauldhouse United, he has been on the books of dozens of clubs in the lower.
