Amanda Louise Holden (born 16 February 1971) is an English media personality, actress, television presenter, singer, and author. She has judged on the television talent show competition Britain's Got Talent since the show began its run in 2007 on ITV. As an actress, Holden played the role of Mel in Kiss Me Kate (1998–2000), Geraldine Titley in The Grimleys (1999-2001), Sarah Trevanion in Wild at Heart (2006–2008), Lizzie, the Ring Mistress, in Big Top (2009), and the title role in Thoroughly Modern Millie, for which she was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award.

Family watch in horror as 4x4 disappears beneath tide after getting stuck in mud

family, including a child, were rescued from their car after it got stuck in the mud when the tide came in at a Brit beach. The 4x4 was "quickly submerged" after the tide came in at Red Wharf Bay in Pentraeth, Anglesey, North Wales, the coastguard said.

Rescue teams were unable to save the vehicle in time, so the family were forced to watch it go under at the picturesque bay yesterday, Saturday June 11 at around 6.30pm.

A spokesperson for the coastguard said in a Facebook post said that teams from MRCC Holyhead along with Moelfre Coastguard Rescue Team tended "to vehicle stuck in the mud Red Wharf Bay."Highlighting that there were people potentially in difficulty, the post added: "fortunately the 3 occupants (2 adults 1 child) had managed to make it to safety, with the vehicle quickly getting submerged various recovery assets were contacted to see if anyone could assist but unfortunately with the tide coming in quick and by the time they turned up it was to late and not possible to recover. "Therefore attempts will be made on the next turn of the tide, with no life in danger all assets were stood down and returned to station to await the next call."Unfortunately, incidents like this aren't rare.
