Since May 11, Brits have been advised to wear face coverings in enclosed public spaces where they come into contact with people.Shops will have the right to refuse entry into their stores and people could risk a hefty fine of up to £100 for breaking the rules.However, it will not be compulsory for shop workers to wear masks under the new government laws.
Supermarkets all have similar measures when it comes to keeping customers and staff safe during the coronavirus pandemic. Environment Secretary George Eustice suggests it will not be mandatory for staff in places like Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury's and Lidl.
