FA chief executive Mark Bullingham has opened talks with the government and football bosses about providing financial help to clubs facing ruin because of the coronavirus crisis.
The suspension of all football until April 4 at the earliest, due to the pandemic, is threatening the futures of clubs lower down the league pyramid.
The lack of revenue from matchdays has placed huge strain on the finances of clubs, with Barnet announcing this week that 60 members of staff have been laid off.
Others are expected to follow suit and Bullingham insists the authorities are working on a plan to provide some financial help.
