Premier League referee Jeff Winter has posted a heartbreaking tribute following the death of his wife Lynette.Winter, who retired in 2004 having taken charge of the FA Cup final between Manchester United and Millwall, officiated in the top flight for over seven seasons.He had been assistant referee in the Football League while being fourth official in the 1989 FA Cup Final between Merseyside rivals Liverpool and Everton.Since retirement, Winter had been a regular at Middlesbrough matches as a fan while also travelling the world with his wife.But he has now been left heartbroken following the death of Lynette.Writing alongside four pictures on Twitter, Winter put: “A post I never thought I’d have to make.“My wife Lynette has left us to.
