EasyJet confirms 9m customers have had their travel details hacked

EasyJet has announced that 9 million customers have had their travel details accessed by hackers. The budget airline carrier said the figure includes 2,208 customers who had their credit card details exposed.

The Luton-based company insisted there is "no evidence that any personal information of any nature has been misused" due to the cyber attack.

EasyJet confirmed it has started contacting affected customers and pledged that they will all be informed by Tuesday, May 26.

The airline did not disclose when the cyber attack took place, but the BBC reports that easyJet has informed the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office and is continuing to investigate the security breach.
