St Johnstone has been called off after the Tannadice pitch failed an inspection. Callum Davidson's side were due to make the short journey north for the Premiership clash as they hoped to narrow the gap between the two sides to just three points.
There were freezing conditions in Dundee overnight though and the SPFL announced at 11am that there would be a pitch inspection at noon.
One area of the park remained frozen solid with the club announcing: "There will be a further inspection at 1.30pm due to an area of the pitch thawing slower than the rest." Despite Dundee United 's best efforts to make the surface playable referee Colin Steven deemed the game could not go ahead.
