A cannabis addict left a woman paralysed after slicing her spinal cord in an "unprovoked attack" during a four day stabbing rampage that injured four others.

Ayfer Bektas, who was stricken with breast cancer at the time of the attack, has been told she will never walk again after Jason Kakaire, 31, left the blade sticking out of her back.

A court heard Kakaire started smoking cannabis at the age of 15 and is a paranoid schizophrenic. Appearing at the Old Bailey via video-link from maximum security Broadmoor Hospital, Kakaire was told he'll be kept in centres for indefinite treatment until medical professionals deem him safe to be released.
