Police have named a man stabbed to death on a street in east London as 34-year-old Lee Baxter. The dad-of-four was found by police with multiple stab wounds at Southdown Crescent, Ilford, late on Friday evening.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene at at around 10.30pm despite the efforts of emergency services. Detectives believe he was stabbed in an alleyway after becoming embroiled in an argument with a group of men who later fled the scene.
Extensive enquiries are ongoing to establish the exact circumstances of the incident, the Met confirmed. A post-mortem examination found that Lee died from multiple stab wounds.
