3 after a brief illness in Greeley, Colorado, his family announced. He was 87. After a stint working in the tool-and-die industry, Douglas accepted an offer from William Hanna in the early 1960s to join Hanna-Barbera Productions, and he went on to edit episodes of The Flintstones, The Jetsonsand Jonny Quest and cartoons featuring Yogi Bear, Peter Potamus, Magilla Gorilla, Secret Squirrel and Atom Ant.
