Couple welcome twin boys after 18 years of IVF – on Mother's Day

A couple who went through IVF for 18 years finally welcomed their first children on Mother’s Day. Mick and Ruth O'Malley, from Scunthorpe, Lincs, feel “truly blessed” after the birth of Thomas James and Brendan Crawford O'Malley.

The twins are now at home and have been spending lots of quality time with their parents due to the coronavirus lockdown. Ruth, who will turn 40 this month, told Grimsby Live: "If you had told me that 18 years after I had been told I couldn't conceive children naturally, I would be back in Scunthorpe General Hospital having twins – on Mother's Day no less – I wouldn't have believed you."
