All ‘face-to-face teaching’ at the University of Manchester will be cancelled from 5pm tonight (Tuesday, March 17). The university has also confirmed the ‘closure of non-essential facilities on campus’ over coronavirus.

Referencing ‘challenging times and unprecedented arrangements’, Ms Rothwell said: “The most important thing we can do over the coming weeks and months is to support each other.” The suspension will cover laboratories, seminars and all tutorials, with all the university’s libraries closed, together with Manchester Museum, Whitworth Art Gallery and Jodrell Bank.
