A sun-worshipper was ordered out of the hotel he had expected to be staying in during his Tenerife holiday. Craig Fletcher had booked his trip to the Spanish island through loveholidays and was hoping to enjoy a week of luxury.
However, when the 38-year-old arrived at the island's airport the shuttle service was closed, meaning he had to fork out €100 (£90) for a taxi.
Worse still, when Craig made it to the Hotel Blue Sea in the Puerto Resort he found it shut. "It was a closed hotel," the production manager said. "I walked in to the lobby to have a look and there was a lady freaking out saying 'you can't come in, we're closed.' "She said it was because of Covid."
