Motorists have been flouting road regulations and taking advantage of clear roads during the coronavirus lockdown – with one being caught driving 134mph.
Speeding drivers have been travelling at more than double the legal limit, police up and down the UK have revealed. Officers recorded one driver rocketing through London at 134mph in a 40mph zone, while another was clocked at 115mph on a 40mph road in Greater Manchester.
Police have slammed drivers taking advantage of clear roads and using them as a "race track" during these troubling times. They said a crash could put a “huge strain” on blue light services needed in the fight against Covid-19.
