Cruz Beckham, 17, launching music career as he works with Justin Bieber's writer

Cruz Beckham has announced he's launching a career in the music industry just one day after turning 17 on 20 February. Victoria and David's son is working with writer Poo Bear, who is behind the likes of Usher's Confessions era and as well as several of Justin Bieber's biggest hits from his Purpose album.

While Cruz previously released a Christmas track back in 2016 for charity, he moved on to pursue a career in football and has now circled back to music once again. “I thought I would want to do football and I did that for a bit,” Cruz, who previously signed with Arsenal, explained.

But eventually returned to the idea of launching a singing career as he added: "At that point, I just decided: this is exactly what I want to do.” Get exclusive celebrity stories and fabulous photoshoots straight to your inbox with OK!'s daily newsletter In an effort to further his career in the industry, he's been learning how to play different instruments, including guitar, piano and drums. “I even learnt how to play the mandolin for a song that I wrote," he shared, adding that he doesn't believe people ever stop learning.

Cruz went on to speak about his time in the recording studio in Miami with Poo Bear as he said: “We’ve just been in the studio a few times and made some songs together." The pair have been working on creating tracks around "personal experiences, real experiences".The son of British celebrity royalty doesn't have much time left in school, but is set on making his music career work as he travels to and from his family homes in Miami and the UK.
