In the age of streaming television, the mini-series is quickly becoming the best format that dramatic narrative has, more than just a movie, time for character development, and intrigue, but can still conclude with a beginning and middle and end instead of the extended and prolonged second act that is a lot of television.
Still, when you get a massive hit on your hands, the temptation to go on (and potentially make a lot more money) is very real.
