Edinburgh. Police are investigating the incident, which took place on Restalrig Avenue near the junction with Craigentinny Avenue at about 4.30pm on Friday.A 34-year-old man was walking when he was hit by a black Vauxhall Corsa car after it mounted the pavement.The driver then raced off from the scene.
He was rushed to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries. Detective Inspector Jonny Wright of Gayfield CID confirmed that they were treating the incident as an attempted murder.He said: “Our enquiries so far suggest the car was deliberately driven at the man and we are seeking further information in relation to the matter.
