Atletico Madrid star Thomas Partey has been told he needs to leave the Wanda Metropolitano for Arsenal this summer, in order to "prove himself" in the Premier League.
Partey has been heavily linked with a switch to the Gunners and is believed to have a $50m (£44m) release clause in his current contract, which is due to run until 2023.Atletico are keen to keep him and are hoping to tie him down to a new deal which would see his release clause skyrocket.However, Partey's Ghana team-mate Joseph Attamah Larweh believes he needs to leave Atletico and show that he is "capable of succeeding in other places". "I will be happy if he goes to Arsenal," Larweh told Citi Sports. "He has done everything at Atletico and is recognized as one of his best.
