Andre Villas-Boas has reportedly snubbed an offer from Newcastle to take over the club once the £300m Saudi-backed takeover goes through.
The Portuguese boss has rebuilt his reputation in European football with a successful stint at Marseille, ending the curtailed Ligue 1 campaign in second-place behind PSG.
But his future at the French side is in doubt after the departure of closest ally, Sporting Director Andoni Zubizaretta, last week.
Villas-Boas emerged as a surprise contender for the Newcastle job in recent weeks as fans eagerly await the takeover of the club.
