When the winter months hit it's only natural we might feel the need to retreat and stay snug and warm indoors. But experts say children need to be out and about for at least two hours every day - regardless of the weather.
Parenting expert, Joanna Fortune, psychotherapist and author of the 15-Minute Parenting books, says some fresh air can help to lower anxiety levels and decrease hyperactivity.
As most parents will already know, the longer children spend indoors, the more difficult they can be to manage. But Joanna says sticking their coat on and getting them out and about will help them burn off some energy, reports SomersetLive.
