Edinburgh beats Glasgow and Aberdeen in trendiest cities list

Edinburgh has beaten Glasgow and Aberdeen to be named the trendiest Scottish city. According to research conducted by fashion retailers Charles Tyrwhitt, which takes into account various factors including the number of bars and pubs, art galleries and museums, the capital was the trendiest Scottish entry with a score of 82.

Edinburgh, which ranked 9th in the overall UK list, scored highly for its top pubs and art galleries, with Glasgow coming in 18th with a score of 76, and Aberdeen placing even further back in 23rd with 71.Incredibly, all three Scottish entries beat out London, which suffered for its lack of vintage shops placing it in 27th, with a score of 68.Brighton came top, with Newcastle and Huddersfield completing the top 3 It's the second time Edinburgh has done well in one of these lists in recent times, with Leith recently being voted one of the top five 'coolest' places in the world.

Influential travel magazine Time Out named the area fourth in their annual “49 coolest neighbourhoods in the world”.
