Young Scots mum diagnosed with brain tumour when going private after being told of year-long NHS wait

A young mum was diagnosed with an incurable brain tumour after going private to get symptoms of MS checked out - after facing a 56-week wait on the NHS.

Mum-of-three Natalie Cawsey, 35, was diagnosed with a grade two oligodendroglioma after suffering from headaches, weak legs and numbness for three years.

The former retail worker, from Dunfermline, Fife, who is mum to Asher, aged one, Flynn, five, and Noah, seven, feared she may have been suffering from multiple sclerosis.

NHS medics told her she would need to wait 56 weeks for a neurology appointment in July due to covid-related delays - so she went private and got the diagnosis that month.Her dad, George Milne, 65, give her £3,000 to cover the cost of getting a private diagnosis.Natali
