The middle-aged woman was in the water at El Pinet Beach, south of Alicante in Spain, when she was bitten on her right foot on Monday, August 23.First-aiders were dispatched to the scene and many others left the water, fearing a blue shark like the one spotted in Benidorm earlier this month.However, local reports identified the specimen as a bluefish.They can weigh as much as 13kg [30lbs] and grow to 4ft in some cases.Bluefish are fast swimmers that prey on schools of forage fish, favouring the likes of anchovies, shrimp and squid.The aggressive fish are known to inflict severe bites on.
