dailystar.co.ukA woman has been arrested after a six-year-old was found covered in flea bites after being made to live in "squalor". The child was found by cops on April 22 hiding at the home of suspected child abuser from Fort Walton Beach, in Florida after they managed to lock her out.
Police allege Toni Reid's home was riddled with fleas, mould, dog urine and excrement and the child slept on a bare mattress with springs poking out.
She has been charged with child neglect. Reid, 58, kept three dogs, one of which was covered in fleas and unable to walk. Deputies who entered Reid’s squalid home said the conditions were so bad they were also covered with fleas within minutes.
