The bodies of two women have been found after they were seemingly dropped from the side of a bridge. Vanita Richardson, 19, and Trevena Clarece Campbell, 31, were discovered in Rome, Georgia, US, on Wednesday morning.
The following afternoon, Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) confirmed they were treating the deaths as a homicide. The women have been identified as sisters by local media and were reportedly found with bags over their heads.
GBI Assistant Special Agent in Charge Brian Johnston told the Rome News-Tribune that the women's bodies were "apparently dropped over the [Etowah] bridge." The Tribune also reported that shotgun shells were discovered close to the women's bodies, but the GBI has yet to confirm this.
