The body of a small dog has been found after being left dumped by a pond close to a football ground. The dog - a small terrier type - was left dead in a bag by the pond near Hanley Town Football Club in Abbey Lane, Abbey Hulton, Staffordshire on Sunday.
The pooch was found by a walker, who was left shocked at the discovery. The RSPCA says the dog was not microchipped so inspectors have no way of tracing where it was from.
It is feared the dog died some time ago so it isn't possible to establish a cause of death, StokeonTrentLive reports.
