A "lovely and very gentle" man who was killed in his own house was the victim of a "horrific sustained attack", police have said.
Saleem Butt, 61, was tied up and murdered at his home in Batley, West Yorkshire, where his body was found on Thursday night, police added.
Officers said they are trying to build a picture of Mr Butt's last hours and are appealing for information. They now believe he was killed between the evening of Wednesday April 22 and Thursday April 23 and want to know where he may have gone and who he may have spoken to on the Wednesday.
