dailystar.co.ukA shop worker has appeared in court accused of slitting the throats of both his young children while his wife was in the shower.
Pavinya Nithiyakumar, who was just 19 months old, and Nigash Nithiyakumar, who was three , were fatally wounded with a knife at the family home in Ilford, east London, on April 26.
Pavinya was pronounced dead at the scene while Nigash was rushed to hospital in Whitechapel where he too died. It was understood the children's mother, named locally as Nisa, was at home in the shower at the time of the killings and alerted police.
Her husband, Nadarajah Nithiyakumar, 40, was rushed to hospital with knife wounds. He was charged with murdering his daughter Pavinya and son Nigash, after being released from hospital.
