Peter Kay made a sensational return to TV for BBC’s charity broadcast Big Night In, where he recreated Tony Christie hit (Is This The Way To) Amarillo.
His epic return saw him call on nurses and healthcare staff to join him in the remake to raise awareness for those working on the frontline during the coronavirus crisis, 15 years after Bill Roache, Michael Parkinson and Orville the Duck featured in the first version.
Peter’s appearance onscreen comes more than two years after he disappeared from the spotlight towards the end of 2017, after he cancelled his 14-month tour due to ‘unforeseen family circumstances’.
He shared a statement to Twitter in December 2017 explaining to fans that his ‘family comes first’ and has therefore cancelled
