Peter Kay is reported to have been offered a role next to Michelle Keegan in TV comedy Brassic. The Bolton comedian is believed to be a big fan of the series, which airs on Sky One.
The programme is co-created and written by This Is England actor Joe Gilgun and BAFTA Award-winning writer Danny Brocklehurst, who has penned hit TV dramas including Safe, Ordinary Lies, Clocking Off and The Stranger.
Brassic received rave reviews when it arrived on screens last year, and shortly after, stars of the second series were spotted filming in Manchester.
As well as Corrie star Michelle, the show also stars Cold Feet actor John Thompson - both of whom were captured filming scenes in Heaton Park and Manchester's Star and Garter Pub in September.
