Welsh caravan park asks 4,000 holidaymakers to leave due to new coronavirus lockdown rules

Welsh site say they were given a deadline of hours to gather their belongings and go home after the local authority revealed strict new coronavirus measures.

The owners of the popular Trecco Bay caravan park in Porthcawl said they will now have to  'go into hibernation' after the new rules were made and they closed at 6pm on Tuesday.

Parkdean Resorts, the company which runs the site, said all holidaymakers and holiday home owners currently on the site have been asked to leave the park "as soon as possible", reports  WalesOnline.

Sean Gattrell, 25, from Newport, was one of the many guests who had their family holiday cut short.He arrived at the site with his partner Chloe Brant, 21, and baby Layla Gattrell, 14 months, together with other.
