A couple who got lost in the dark while out walking were located safe by a mountain rescue team. Guidance to all walkers has been issued as a result as the nights draw in.
Oldham Mountain Rescue Team scrambled after a call late on Saturday night from Greater Manchester Police. READ MORE: The unnamed couple were in an area around Dovestone Reservoir in Oldham and had been 'caught out' when night fell with only a 'limited' phone battery.
Eleven members of the team were involved. The couple were located near Birchen Clough and given warm clothes and torches, before being escorted to a waiting medic.
